Music that takes you to a different place. Balm for these ears! I'm a diehard fan so probably never not going to like anything this legend bestows upon us. Thank all the gods for steadfast grace and beauty in amongst the mayhem. The loveliest 22 minutes and 59 seconds x 2 I've had the pleasure of, under headphones, for some time now. Brilliant musician - the instruments (all of which he plays) literally sing. Magical. Released digitally on Bandcamp - a purchase for me, as are all his recent releases. Sounds as though he's enjoying himself - so grateful he is still creating!

I will keep listening to their new releases which are technically great and I like the concept that they chose which is basically an artist losing himself inside a woodcut – the world he had created within, but despite all the musical prowess, I’m just not vibing much with this one. This is their second album with Alberto Bravin on lead vocals and he has a good rock voice, without doubt - I just can’t seem to feel it. Or maybe it’s just that he sounds generic – I dunno what it is. I find the secondary voice of Rikard Sjoblom much more interesting. In any event, I expect there will be plenty of takers - perhaps I am just grumpy and have unrealistic expectations!

This band fits the prog rock description, harking very much back to the 70’s, although the longest track on the 66 minute long album is a mere seven minutes and sixteen seconds in duration! I’m kinda sorry that I not going to pursue it any further, but oh well – it is what it is. I most like the instrumental interlude “Hawthorn White” … could have done with some more of this ...
12th solo album
11th to reach #1 on UK charts, 17th #1 including live, comps, collabs and soundtrack

Never thought this day would hold such a fantastic surprise! To little or no fanfare at all, the amazing Andy Latimer has released a new album, on Bandcamp – on 01 October 2025. Took long enough for me to stumble upon it! Jeez. I didn’t see this one coming, I have to say, especially since we know he has not been very well over the past few years. Sadly.

There are few words to describe the emotions his playing elicits - what a stupendous gift this man has. And he is so modest. Bought and downloaded immediately. I'm so happy! It's like hitting the jackpot - not that that's ever been a thing for me, but you know - like winning a prize or something.

… could also be titled Insouciant Grace if you ask me – and even if you don’t! Although insouciance belies the craft of which one Robert Anthony Plant should be justifiably proud. I’ve said it before and will say it again – the man is no fake; he’s not just cashing in on his mighty reputation nor is he riding on the very long coattails of Jimmy Page’s original vision – his whole being is immersed in his muse. One of the very few statesmen of rock in advance of whose latest offerings I suffer no feelings of trepidation. Nicely done Mr Plant.

The album is a collection of carefully curated and executed songs – some of surprising origins. Robert Plant has a long-held interest in the blues, gospel, soul and traditional folk music. This release reflects his encyclopaedic knowledge and excellent ear – he’s picked up on material by 60’s psychedelic band Moby Grape, Memphis Minnie (from whence came LZ’s version of “When the Levee Breaks”), and several more contemporary and less mainstream artists such as The Low Anthem, Low, Martha Scanlan and Sarah Siskind. So immersed is he, that he’s even chosen lesser-known artist’s interpretations of traditional songs, and given credit where it’s due.

Suzi Dian, his co-vocalist, is a member of Saving Grace, the band he’s been having a whale of time with for the past six years, (hence the title of the album) and she is the perfect foil for his more mature rasp – not that he sounds in any way quavering – he can certainly still hold his own. They make fabulous harmonies, and her voice is absolutely true. Altogether, a slick, somewhat edgy, well thought out and pleasing listen. The album cover and a few of the visuals remind me of Altamira – Mark Knopfler’s album with Dame Evelyn Glennie. Perhaps the inspiration is similar.
