HB Dolly,
"coat of many colors" is also my favourite Dolly song also...
i was never a big fan of Dolly, liked her 1970s material and her and Kenny's cover of the Bee Gees track "islands in the stream" but thats about it...
she recently toured here and got pretty good reviews for her shows
"BTO....Bachman,Turner,Overweight

I saw Dolly years ago when she was coming out with her No. 1 hits but have not seen her in person since. She did write some great songs such as I Will Always Love You. I have to say Whitney did a better job singing the song though. I tend to give as much if not more credit to the writers however. They have been showing Steel Magnolias on TV lately. I think she did a good job on the movie. I agree with her line "Ice Tea, house wine of the South"

"i will always love you" trivia for you....
Dolly actually wrote the song for a certain Elvis Aaron Presley initially, but EP's manager Tom Parker wanted half the writer royalties in exchange for The King to record it...
Dolly declined saying "i wrote it,i deserve the credit and any monies it earns", Tom Parker then advised her that he would not allow Elvis to record it.
Elvis would have done a good job with that song circa 1971-ish but alas never got the chance to do so!
also on the "iced tea" thing...i had some real good iced tea at Music Head's place in 2011....i liked it so much i asked him for his wife's recipe, awesome stuff!

A very shrewd businesswoman. Loved her response to someone asking her whether she thought she looked cheap. 'Honey, it takes an awful amount of money to look this cheap'

Interesting about Dolly and Elvis!! I read Dolly was shattered when I Will Always Love You was used at Whitney's funeral. As for Iced Tea, I was raised on it, not instant though and with sugar. It's great!!
