I've been playing guitar for almost two years now, and anytime I've had to finger pick, I've used only my index and middle finger. I realize this may not be proper I'm terms of technique, but I can play the strings quite quickly (As long as they are in close proximity.) The reason for me doing this is my thumb is a bit stumpy, so it's uncomfortable and just gets in the way when I try to include it in my finger picking.
I've started writing a guitar part and realized it is almost impossible to play at the tempo I would like it to go without my thumb being included. Does anyone have any tips for me as to make picking with my thumb more controllable and comfortable? Any advice would definitely be appreciated!
