The Gotye song also sold more than 1 million copies in the UK in 2012 to become the countries 52nd biggest selling song of all-time.
According to the Official Charts Company, only the songs Gotyeâs âSomebody That I Used To Knowâ and Carly Rae Jepsenâs âCall Me Maybeâ sold over 1,000,000 in the UK in 2012. âSomebody That I Used To Knowâ sold 1,318,000 units. âCall Me Maybeâ sold 1,143,000.
Gotye wasnât the only Australian to score well in the UK during 2012. Adelaideâs Sia also featured at no. 4 and no. 10 with âTitanium by David Guetta featuring Sia and âWild Ones with Flo Rida featuring Sia.
188.6 million single songs were sold in the UK in 2012, up by 6% on the previous years figure of 177.9 million.
