Have to say the latest killing spree in the USA just left me cold. So sad. And those parents must be going through hell.

I'm just pissed because they pulled an episode of SYFY's Haven last night because it dealt with a school shooting

A major problem in the USA. our gun laws are pretty tight here... you have to apply to the police for a firearms licence, takes anywhere up to a month for it to come through... there are only a handful of firearms dealers here... to actually apply to get a firearm, you either have to be a sponsered by a member of a pistol club and join that club, or get a written declaration from a farmer stating they know you and they are allowing you to shoot vermin on their property... you then have to prove to police that you have a secure place to store the weopon at home in a steel cabinet that is bolted to the floor and to the wall with the same bolts and screws that hold 'safes' in place....the police have the right to enter your home and inspect your cabinet, weopon and ammunition anytime of anyday whenever they choose to...and they actually do spot inspections....all purchased ammunition has to be accounted for or signed off by gun clubs or other people who have seen you use it, anyone found flaunted the system is automatically jailed for a period of time and their licence revoked for life! i know it sounds harsh, but we have probably one of the lowest 'per capita' firearms crime rates in the world... mostof the crime from firearms here is usually from 'black market' sales which is very low, have way more crimes involving replica firearms than real ones and most crimes are drug or outlaw bikie gang related (which comes with being involved in that lifestyle) police here probably only have to shoot one person a year at the most while trying to arrest them...good safe place to be in IMO
