Hey everybody, I'm Frownland. I love avant-garde music and play quite a bit of it myself. My favourite bands are Captain Beefheart & His Magic Band, Zu, Jandek, Kath Bloom, Doseone (this includes his various projects), Albert Ayler, miRthkon, Wolves In Sheepskin, Zs, Diamond Terrifier, Keiji Haino, Lounge Lizards, and Marc Ribot to keep the list short.
Apart from music I am a journalism major at Palomar College. I write a lot of fiction and poetry as well, but I'm taking journalism because that's a more realistic goal for a career than writing poetry. I love fantastic film, great literature, and anything else within the arts that is creative. I play more instruments than I can count on my fingers (if I was missing one) and make unique instruments as well.
I joined music discussion because I love music, obviously. Glad to join the community here.

I can send you a private message with a link, since I'm sure that you guys don't want me to spam you all right off the bat.

Thanks! Of course I know Anthony Braxton, he's one of my favourite free jazz/avant-garde saxophonists. His album For Alto is bloody brilliant. I wish I could've been alive in the 80s when he was touring with Cecil Taylor, that would have been a fantastic. Although I'm a huge fan of Anthony Braxton, his son (Tyondai Braxton of Battles)'s work is a bit disappointing. Not a very popular opinion, I know, but I just can't quite get into his electronica.
