A very close friend of mine is moving to Thailand with her boyfriend. She's in NYC right now but has to come to Florida first to have her family see her off. Anyway she must give away or sell all of her things to accomplish this adventure. She is saving for me her entire CD collection. Knowing her is will be a lot of Belle and Sebastian and the Smiths lol but that's OK because I don't have any of that and she's got a lot of bands I've never even heard of. Anyway it's hundreds of Cd's and I'm excited

Also can't wait to see her when she gets here.

that should be a nice pick-up Tracy....hell, im still waiting for Tem to go through his collection for me and give me the ones he doesnt want(around 100 he believes!)
you mentioned The Smiths....
take your time with these guys, they tended not to hit the spot with me immediately back in the 1980s...took a few years to appreciate them and what they were about, found their lyrics and vocals to be extremely depressing(the forerunners for 'emo' i guess?)....
their principle guitarist/writer is a guy named Johnny Marr,he is one of the most reveered writers/guitarists to emerge from the UK in the last 35 years...it seems anybody who is anybody wants to record with him...the same goes for Graham Coxon from Blur...i would describe them as the UK's version of Jack White in that respect!

You may be right. the Smiths may be an acquired taste. I didn't love them in the 80's I like them now. I just don't have a lot of their stuff. I do have one Morrisey album but that's all.
