ipad

alright, who's got one of these things, or it's equivalent.

I'm thinking about getting one and would like some opinions.
Rumor has it that the ipad is the mercedez of the lot. Is that true?
I am not familiar with mac products at all. Will the transition be painful?
If you can throw out any pros and cons of the technology as compared to a traditional laptop, it would be appreciated.
I am familiar with the touch screen aspect of these products, via my phone, but I only use my phone to do this weird thing people used to do before texting became the way to communicate, called talking. That's what I use my phone for.

I have the iPhone. It does pretty much everything the iPad does it just does it smaller and makes phone calls too. I find Apple products to be extremely easy to use. I'm not good with computers and with Apple I don't need to be! I would love to have an iPad for the games and reading and things like that.

Can't help MH - don't know much about Apple stuff. The general consensus seems to be that they are very easy to use, are of good quality but overpriced when compared to the competition.

I should add that I haven't met anyone who is disappointed with their iPad. It is expensive though......too much for me right now.

well, I made the leap
not an ipad but it's equivalent
Samsung/Galaxy Tab 2
rated near as high as the ipad by most consumers
now to see what I can or can't do with it

a steep learning curve for me, and I'm slow
hard for me to get used to no mouse
didn't even have a wireless network before now
so for me the biggest plus so far is being able to go outside with it
of course when cold weather sets in, that advantage will be gone
hope it doesn't go by way of my mp3 player, which sits in a drawer somewhere
