The Damned
#1
another one of my all time favourite punk bands is the Damned their style varied between punk and heavy rock styles lots of great guitar from captain sensable. a drummer called Rat Scabies and a lead vocallist who looked like Dracula (Dave Vanian) .
I saw them live at the Town and country club in Kentish town London. in1992 and they had the line up from the black album..
Vanian.. vocal
Scabies .drums
Captain sensable.. guitar
Paul Gray.. bass ...(paul gray came from eddie and the hotrods.)
a great night I still have the ticket lol

Never really liked them, and this is coming from a huge fan of punk. I guess my main attraction to the genre has always been the more out there stuff (Cardiacs, Zounds, Nomeansno, etc)

to be honest i never heard enough of the Damned to form an opinion, even though i am from primarily the 1970s UK punk era...

i really liked Eloise, but of course, that was a cover version.

and as for The Captain's solo singles....er,no way!!!, "happy talk" cover, and "wot!", dear oh dear!!!!!
"BTO....Bachman,Turner,Overweight
They were big in the 70s....for five minutes,on a Saturday,after lunch..."  -  Me 2014.
