Damn. We've been listening to Springsteen's new Album, "Wrecking Ball", and I think this is the angriest I have ever heard him. This is a no bull shit record. Bruce is angry about where we are as a society, and not afraid to point fingers and lay blame! He is passionate. He believes what he is singing, and Ron Aniello has allowed Bruce's vision to be presented with a feeling of immediacy and urgency. Woody has risen from the grave. No. Woody lives on through Bruce, and all those who will "get" this record, take its message to heart, and doing something about it!

While the Boss is highly effective when angry and volatile, I think he is at his best when he tones it down - I'm on Fire, Streets of Philadelphia, and the whole of 'The Ghost of Tom Joad' which for me is his most stunning work.

I even love Nebraska, and I was shunned for that.

Nebraska is atmospherically brilliant, probably an equal favourite with The River for me, then again i like all his albums, probably dislike Tunnel Of Love more than the others though...!

you could well be right there Jerome, not a big fan of Tom Joad album but i do like it though...think i prefer his quieter moments also overall!, apart from the ones you mentioned, My Hometown also springs immediately to mind as being sublime!

There are "rumours" developing up here or over here that The Boss will be playing The Concert at Magnetic Hill this summer ????..usually draws 80,000 to 100,000...Eagles, Stones, ACDC and U2 have been the major acts there over the past four years. His current concert tour only gives info up to 18 July so there's still hope after that.
For me personally Born to Run/Born in the USA albums did it for me !...his best commercially successful ones I guess.

Can't wait to listen to this album, have heard nothing but good things about it and i'm really curious if it lives up to my expectations, but then again The Boss rarely dissapoints.
