Hi Everybody
#1
Hi all, my name is Ian and I am currently being taught to read sheet music by my 11 year old son and feel privileged to be in such a position. My son was bought a keyboard for his birthday and he's been using this as a basis to teach me, transferring the knowledge to me that he's learnt from school. I essentially want to play the acoustic guitar, but for now I'm happy in the fact that I've learnt 6 simple tunes in the space of 4 weeks and can play them from memory. I'm very passionate about music and have always loved to sing as well. I hope to combine the two together later on and continue to benefit from the positive aspects of learning to play a musical instrument. I practice for between 30 minutes to an hour every day (give or take a couple ConfusedmileSmile and I am determined one day to be able to play guitar rock music on electric guitar. However, I know that this will take a long tine with continued practice but I know that the joy that I will experience from acheiving this will be unparralled. I'm looking forward to discussing this with you all and sharing your passion and enthusiasm for this subject. Confusedmile:

Welcome Ian! It is never too late to learn to play music, and practicing 30 -60 minutes a day is a great way to get there.

Welcome to the site - a recommendation - Ralph Denyer's book 'The Complete Guitarist' is probably the best one out there. Check it out on the web.
