Have you ever bought or downloaded something twice or even knew you had it ?

A lot of the MD members have listened to music for decades and I was wondering if any of the members over the long years of music listening have ever said - I didn't know I already had that ...lol

It's happened to me more than once !...mostly in the past few years with so much music available !

no, but i did double click several times while purchasing cds from amazon....
managed to give them all away to friends though....the last couple i did that with were Paul Weller "22 dreams" & "wake up the nation", Paul McCartney "memory almost full", Neil Young "prairie wind" and Slim Dusty...a best of set.
Music Head now has the duplicates...guess they'll come out in his play list sooner or later(he's already reviewed around 15 that i bought for him and only disliked two of them so far!).

i have at times picked up cds in Corey's shop and put them down because i couldnt remember if i had them or not....just as well as i did have them, they were in my "to play" pile and until i play them i tend to forget about them sometimes!

Yeah, I've done it a few times. The last two were Meshuggah & Korpiklaani. Each time I was blissfully unaware I had the title and was pleased that the CD was on sale. Thankfully I know others who like / love these bands so it didn't take me long to find the CDs new homes.

I tend to obtain my music on CD via the post....................Amazon, Bol lots of others...............this has a very good success rate. However they ability of the supplier top check the CD against the order sometime means that I get something that I already have . Now being usually in a different country, the usalally rectify this without problem but have no system for international returns................Hence one gets duplicates every so often.
Nice to be able to go back to trust and friendship!!!!!!!!!

Wow, I'm not old enough to have started doing that yet I guess. I have had to replace things that have been lent out or damaged or lost but that's about it.

I have over 6500 CDs in my collection, so yes I have bought the same thing more than once. If I catch it before I open it I'm fine, but several times I've had to trade it in at less than 75% of the purchase price.

Yes, things like that happened to me. Buying a CD only to realize I listened to this album once. I found then the same CD and it made things clear: why I forgot about having one is because I didn't like it so much it was thrown away in a dark dusty corner almost at instant.

I have found that "first time listens" are not always the best way to judge an album....some of them grow on you as time goes by !
