Is anyone aware of the existence of this band but me? I doubt it, and I find that really sad because they make some of the most evocative and lovely music I've ever had the privilige to hear

I have Daughter of Darkness ! A gal friend of mine hosts an "obscure music show" (music that is very good but doesn't appeal to a large audience) on Internet radio. Good ambient, drone folk from NSB.Check out Opeth, Agalloch, Isengrind, Amesoeurs, Alcest, AGHAST, TwinSisterMoon ...all are similar

That being said, I have to have a daily dose of the FAB FOUR !!!!!!, also love Cage the Elephant, Avett Brothers, Formidable Joy, Simon & Garfunkel, Paul Simon, Magna Carta, Gryphon, Peter Gabriel, Mars Volta, Whitesnake, Alice Cooper,Crowded House , Paul Weller, Style Coucil, Tangerine Dream, Autreche,Bob Dylan,Eric Church, Lucinda Williams, John Prine, George Jones vast collection of fabulous jazz artists , too many to go on about here, ...on and on into music infinity...I appreciate all music from Brahms to ZZ Top !!!!...... you tend to try to listen to everything over a period of 45 years of music listening !!!!

Check this out from wiki, the numbers in 1966 were staggering,,,they must be at least double by now!!!!(200 songs, 6,000 versions by other artists ..probably not too far from the truth !!!).and other obscure groups can't even dream about this statistic !!!!...and they are musicians so I am almost certain that they are aware of this group !!!!!...pop rock, rock n roll, folk rock, psychedelic, experimental, classsical, country, reggae, jazz ...it's all there !!!!

I don't know about them at all but just their name alone makes me want to hear what they do. Will check it out for sure.
