DOLLY PARTON "the Gospel collection" cd, 2010.

a compilation of Spiritual tracks shes recorded over the decades.
eighteen tracks.
awesome album if you like country gospel.
you can feel the sincerity and honesty in her voice as she sings these songs
which is no surprise because like so many other country artists these are the songs she
was bought up singing from the time she could talk.
love just about everything on here
I LOVE THIS ALBUM

TORI FORSYTH "dawn of the dark"  cd, 2018

Aussie country singer
debut album
was in my top 10 albums of 2018.
real country with hints of bluegrass
has a vocal quality similar to Kasey Chambers
and another connection, album is produced by Kasey's ex (Shane Nicholson)
very good album
off to google if she's released anything else since this one..

GUY CLARK  "Dublin blues"  cd,  1995

American folkie/country singer/songwriter.
written songs for just about everyone who matters in the country scene.
his eighth album here, only thing I own, should probably own more, but its impossible to have everything.
Jack Elliott and Emmy-Lou appear here.
loving just about everything on here.
I LOVE THIS ALBUM

love this little story:

JAMES BLUNDELL  "this road"  cd,  1992

another from the box I was given last year:
Aussie country singer.
third album of a dozen or so.
his biggest seller, going top 10 in Australia and selling platinum
with a couple of decent hits on the mainstream charts (three on country charts).
only one ive heard but im familiar with his singles.
not traditional country, more crossover, Americana, Heartland Rock,
think Mellencamp's more quieter moments as a rough comparison.
nothing bad on here.
two standout tracks, both singles, one a cover, from the 1970s originally by another Aussie
band, The Dingoes, titled Way Out West, I have their version, love both equally.
anyway,
I LIKE THIS ALBUM

Down On The Farm:   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xWWuUejQ3q0  video

ALAN JACKSON "don't rock the jukebox" cd, 1991

his second album.
lovely country ballads/love songs on here.
a few jumpin' jive-joint tunes also.
one track called Just Playin' Possum contains a cameo from Possum himself.
all up a very good album from Mr Jackson

REBA McENTIRE  "reba duets" cd, 2007

her 27th album.
as the title suggests, its a duets album.
some guest artists you might expect like Leanne Rimes, Don Henley, Rascal Flats etc
but others you might not expect like Kelly Clarkson, Faith Hill and Justin Timberlake.
all up,
I LOVE THIS ALBUM

favourite, the one with Don Henley

NEIL YOUNG  "harvest" vinyl, cd  1972

his fourth solo set.
a deliberate pick to play as I wanted folkie Neil this morning.
and if we are going to be honest its the only real worldwide hit
album he had.
Crosby, Stills, Nash, Ronstadt, Taylor and the London Symphony Orchestra
all appear on here as guests.
love most of this, liking the rest.
I LOVE THIS ALBUM

not going to post the obvious two hits off this one
