   Way back in 1968 a young man called James Taylor sent a demo tape of songs to Apple in the UK.
   
   The team at Apple liked what they heard and invited James into their studios to records his first album.....................
   
   In the late 60's things had their own unique style and projection and from this came a very cute first album.....................
   
   Clearly James talent was huge and would shine through any format ..................The Beatles were awesome producers with a track record..............
   
   The result was a charming album of folk music linked together with baroque inter track phrases to set the mood for each track..........................
   
   Although Taylor would go on to frames some of these tracks again on later albums ..........somehow, this album captures a unique moment in time ...........

its one of my favourite albums that i dont own, used to borrow my mums cassette of this one as a teenager along with early Neil Diamond tapes..loved them too, should get around to buying them at some point really.

I have yet to venture into the world of James Taylor what are some esstial albums that he put out or good songs that should be on my playlists!?

Not a huge JT fan but do have 'Never Die Young' and a couple of DVD's of his. However, his double live CD is nothing short of spectacular. One of my favourite live albums - highly recommended if you like that sort of music.

Note: There are 2 versions of the album - a single CD and a double CD - the double is better. Here's one from the album. Groovy stuff.

Never seen the double one here in NL ...............I'm quite an Apple buff but that escaped me.

Consider it endorsed! Ballot paper is in the mail. By the way get the double CD - there are a lot of hidden gems on that one. There's some gospel-type harmonising that is just beautiful.

^ You two are talking at cross purposes, I think. The two alternatives - 1 or 2 disc - are of the live album Jerome mentioned, not the studio debut.

A few days ago you suggested that I check out Ryuichi Sakamoto. I looked at his extensive discography (42 albums (663+tracks) ! Where do I start! Could you recommend a few albums to start me off.
