Sex Pistols "never mind the bollocks"

the Pistols kicked the music scene fair and square between the legs with steel capped boots in 1977, and rightly so. music was in a bad place, too much MOR,AOR and disco beats...especially in the UK.
torn jeans and shirts held together with safety pins etc...these dirty little gits from london,England had something to say and they made sure everyone heard it.
they could barely play their instruments, their vocalist,Johnny Rotten couldnt sing a note in tune if he tried, but he was honest and sincere in his approach and each word struck a nerve like venom from a cornered snake. they had attitude and street credibility, their songs were filled with angst, anti monarchy references, songs of abortion, and generally anything that would cause pandamonium and commotion in the hallowed halls of everywhere and everything.
although the Pistols only ever released this one album they managed in that brief 30 odd minutes to become an influentual and important part of rock history.

1. Holidays In The Sun 2. Bodies 3. No Feelings 4. Liar 5. God Save The Queen 6. Problems 7. Seventeen 8. Anarchy In The UK 9. Pretty Vacant 10. New York 11. EMI

Definite yes. Although Vicious obviously couldn't play, the band that recorded Bollocks were reasonably competent.

In terms of cultural importance this is a big one, and I love it.

Strangely this is on the Listen List, and nearly got played last night...

Not in favour of this one I'm afraid. While I maybe don't mind one or two of their songs, I've always thought that Sex Pistols were very overrated. As for the bass 'player' Sid Vicious... let's not go there.

I predict that this album will probably still be included due to it's surprisingly high influence within the music world.

I'm with Mr. Soul. It doesn't get my vote. I enjoy a song or two but hate this album over all.
