[INDENT][INDENT]It is not necessary to post as to why you voted the way you did, but it would be interesting to the rest of us.

Note: - This poll is a request by a current member. Sort of violating my policy of only artists that are no longer active but considering the request source, I'm always flexible.

Since they only have 4 complete studio albums, I have also included two ep's.

Thank you very much for this poll Music Head. Also well done for including their earlier 'Sap' EP which I had (stupidly) forgotten about. The 'untitled' track featured on it is supremely hilarious.

I voted for 'Jar Of Flies' due to the uniqueness of that record, the spontaneous creation of it, the beautiful end product and the fact that it single handedly set them aside from the rest of the grunge and metal genres.

Take the pairing of this album with their 'MTV Unplugged' CD/DVD concert 2 years later (on which several of these tracks are featured) it really does serve as a wonderful example of the diversity of Alice In Chains not only as a band but as each individual member as a musician, particularly Jerry Cantrell's guitar work.

Sensational album which made the band more of an importance in my collection.

Thank you.

Can't vote here as I have only heard the last one, which was ok.
Really liked Check My Brain off of there.

Yeah I agree the comeback record was actually surprisingly very good. It's not often I'd praise a new line-up but honestly the replacement frontman William Du Vall was fantastic. If you liked him, then check out his band 'Comes With The Fall'. New material did sound more like a Jerry Cantrell solo record than any of the old Alice In Chains stuff though.

I've only heard the Unplugged album, so I'm out as well, unfortunately.

Although I could express my preference for it, despite it not meeting the criteria...

'Unplugged' is an epic album Tiggi. I didn't mention it though as I was under impression that only studio albums would be eligible for inclusion. If you plan on investigating any of their other albums, I'd suggest you hear 'Jar Of Flies' EP.

Besides 5 tracks which will be a fresh listen, you'll already be familiar with tracks such as 'Nutshell' & 'No Excuses' and you're in for a treat cos' they sound ten times better on the studio recording and much more atmospheric.

You're right that live albums are excluded, Lewis. This is a shame, but rules is rules.

No idea, perhaps one of the site's early founders such as Beachhead or Techman??

So is no-one else able to vote on this poll then?
