I am interested in knowing your favorite folk artists/tunes. What are the staples I should listen too in folk music?

I love Russian folk music. Although a lot of these were written in the last century and have known compsoers, a few great titles are, Kalinka, Katyusha, The peddlars, Smugylanka, Song of the Volga Boatmen, By the long road and The Cossack ride over the Dunai.
