Aquarius III - Logic - Mellope Album Review
OVERVIEW:
The whole project takes a different step from modern rap, feeling organized and perfectly paced. Lyrically, the content is impressive. No matter what mood you're in, you can still admire the quality tracks here! An enjoyable listen—I wouldn't mind a replay.
1. This Is The Way (6/10)
The simple drum loop and lyrics didn't bring enough impact to call this excellent, but it definitely felt different from the usual. A cool opening!
2. French Dispatch (6.5/10)
Great lyrics that merge seamlessly into the song's pattern. It had an interesting mix that I haven't heard anywhere else. So far, Logic is doing a great job of separating himself from modern rap stereotypes.
3. Not A Game Ft. Lucy Rose (7/10)
They absolutely smashed this out of the park! Lucy's soft vocals complement Logic's delivery perfectly, creating a beautiful collaboration. This is definitely a nice treat for the middle of the EP. Logic really put thought into this one (pun intended).
4. Universe (7/10)
Logic was on fire with this! The gentle transitions between the flavor-packed hooks made me fall in love with this track. Anyone who doesn't typically enjoy rap should give this a shot because it's a perfectly placed song on the EP.
5. A Message From My Younger Self (6/10)
The EP ends with a two-and-a-half-minute spoken message about Logic's career, recorded in 2011. It's a reflective look back at the past Logic. While some may find it long and not worded perfectly, I respect the down-to-earth ending to the EP.
BEST: Not A Game Ft. Lucy Rose
WORST: A Message From My Younger Self
RATING: 6.5/10
