Spotify listen:
debuts at #1 on the UK charts this week.
stupid me, I should have recognised their names.
Paul Heaton was writer/vocals for Housemartins and Beautiful South,
Jacqui was joint vocals for Beautiful South.
songs have a slight sound of both bands.
most songs on here duets, several others are solo efforts where the other
just joins in the chorus.
some gorgeous songs on here that are upbeat, catchy and sounds as though
their having fun, and their chemistry shines through here.
16 tracks, around 70 minutes and I just feel as though it was too much.
would have preferred 10-12 tracks and 45 minutes, that would have been enough.
I have not heard anything from them in fifteen years, had no idea this was their fourth
joint effort.
real instruments, real lyrics, no autotuned, just good old fashioned pop music.
BTW, Jacqui has a subtle thing about her which find mesmerising.
I LIKE THIS ALBUM
