NEW: Chrissie Hynde & The Valve Bone Woe Ensemble - Meditation on a Pair of ....

... Wire Cutters

^Couldn't fit the whole thing in the subject box! Lol!

I don't think you can call this a single, but whatever it is, it's brilliant, IMHO. From Chrissie Hynde's soon to be released jazz covers album with The Valve Bone Woe Ensemble - Valve Bone Woe

The story behind the Valve Bone Woe name - “A few years back when I saw an obit in the paper for the valve-trombonist Bob Brookmeyer, I mailed my jazz sax-playing brother, saying ‘R. I. P. Bob Brookmeyer.’ Terry, a man of few words, responded with ‘Valve Bone Woe,’ a kind of Haiku beatnik prose.”  https://ultimateclassicrock.com/chrissie...-bone-woe/

A reinterpretation of Charles Mingus's "Meditation on a Pair of Wire Cutters" -

I wasn't expecting an instrumental from Chrissie Hynde, maybe if I knew the original version I would have...

I actually enjoyed it, a pleasant change of pace compared to the stock standard music ive been listening to lately,

looking forward to hearing the album

^Oops - forgot to mention it was instrumental track! I wasn't familiar with the original but listened to that as well. While the essence remains, they are aeons apart ... well ... 50 years at least!
