Elvis Presley with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra "the wonder of you"

Spotify listen:

I guess I could have posted this one in the classical/orchestra section of the forum....
second album to be treated with the RPO...
first one "if I can dream" came out about this time last year...
that one was #1 in the UK,AU and on the US Classical charts...
was also 3x platinum in the UK and platinum here in Australia...
this one follows the same pattern...
Presley's original vocal performances along with one, maybe a couple of
the original instrumentations that made the original track plus
musical add ons by the RPO...
that album was respectable to his legacy as is this one...
the tracks they have chosen bar one or two blend well with the classical music IMO...
I am a Presley traditionalist, I obviously prefer the original songs but these types of
album feature his vocals more in the foreground, and to be honest, I love the sound of
his voice especially from the period '67 onwards....
not a bad album, as I said, its made tastefully in honour of his memory, and if anything
I congratulate Priscilla for that alone, and at least it brings Elvis to a whole new generation
of music fans who may not bother listening to the oldies, thinking its not cool to do so...
I will not buy this recording, but like the one released a year ago, no doubt someone will
give it to me as gift this Christmas, no im not expecting it, but i'll be surprised if Santa
doesn't drop it in my stocking...
