Neil Diamond "hot august night"
pretty much the "live" album that all others either aspire to be
or are compared to....
an electrifying performance from the band and Diamond as a singer...
the album, at the time, failed to make the UK top20 yet on the other hand
still holds the record for most weeks at #1 here in Australia (29 wks at #1)...
the making of this album was also a defining moment in his career that propelled
him from a "mum and grandma" singer (although a hugely successful one)
to the threshold of a fullblown stadium rocker...
if I had to list live albums in my collection this one would be up there with the best of them!
