Little Big Town "wanderlust"
Spotify listen:
I have their last album "painkiller"....
the experts call them country but I don't know...
sure they come from Nashville but that last album
contained pop and rock tunes, a few crossover songs
and only a couple of real country tracks...
this new one has no country on it at all, pure pop IMO...
all very good songs, in fact, I enjoyed this one so much that
I played it a second time after it finished the first time...
good stuff IMO:
from the album, the first single:

enters the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart this week at #103
Spotify spin
8 tracks at 25 minutes but they call it an album
Pharrell Williams producing
no pretense at country here
trying for the big crossover hit
only thing I liked
reminds me of the Pointer Sisters
JT in on background vocals

no
but I love Girl Crush
and I liked the album
Who is JT? I can think of a couple of possibilities, but that set of initials must be very common. Or is it simply someone going by the stage name JT?
By the way I have not listened to it because I have just done a big room clean-up and furniture rearrangement and have not yet reconnected my speakers.
25 minutes is a very short playing time for an album by modern standards, but it's longer than your traditional EP, so what the heck. Another band I know released an "EP" containing two songs, both around four minutes long. In the 60s that would have been a 7" single. Quality is more important than running time.

Back to running time of album etc....
I have noticed a shift back to 40 minute albums of late instead of the stock standard 60-70
minute album since the advent of the cd....
I wonder if the increase in vinyl sales had anything to do with it, being that if an album is
generally longer than say 45 minutes it becomes double vinyl, thus the vinyl price
generally doubles and the re ord company executives cant justify that dollar mark up for
artists that aren't 'staples' in the industry.
And by staples om not meaning Mavis!
