I want to buy an album on itunes, but I'm not sure if it comes from a remastered version or not, and I actually want the original release. Itunes doesn't seem to indicate very clearly which is the release version of the album, so is there any digital music store that provides information to know what release version youâre getting?

I cant help you, sorry...
I don't buy digital copies of music only the physical copies.
but,
you can buy individual tracks on iTunes, right???
so if the new remastered version has additional tracks, just buy the original album tracks minus the 'extra tracks'...
and, are you really going to hear the diference between original and remastered music from the compressed sounds
of digital download music?

Yes, you will normally hear differences if it's a remaster version.

Ok,
That surprises me but I'll accept that.
Just out of curiosity...
Do you download to computer or on to ipod???
And if you use ipod, have you heard of Pono?
If you haven't heard of it, Pono is a portable device like ipod,
It was developed by Neil Young and apparently gives almost perfect sound
like that you'd get in a re recording studio,
Many of the big names in music have leant their name to it like
Grohl, McCartney, CSN, Elton, Springsteen etc...

You have tweaked my interest Crazy mate! My ipod classic is getting old...do you know anything about Pono...price, storing capacity, battery life... does it take a docking station?
The ultimate connection is between a performer and its' audience!

I download to the computer.
I have visited Ponomusic, but it doesn't seem to give enough information so that I know which release version I'm getting..
