Elton John "wonderful crazy night"

ELTON JOHN "wonderful crazy night"

Sir Reggie's 33rd studio album,
and im still surprised he made it through the drugged up 'crazy nights'
of the 1970s/1980s!
this one is more uptempo than his last few albums that hark back in
sound to his classic years...
oh man, his voice is so deep nowadays.
album produced by T-Bone Burnett...
not a bad album, nice melodies, tunes and lyrics as youd expect from Elton
but nowhere near as good as his a few of his latest efforts, namely,
"diving board", "the union" and "songs from the west coast",
but hey, the guy has been around almost fifty years now and he's entitled to
do what he wants to, and what he obviously wants is to stick to the tried and true
formula that made him a star.

I wont buy this album, but theres nothing wrong with it...

Here's another, not bad, but I will stick with the older stuff I already have (Yellow Brick Road is the newest release I have of his)

"the diving board" and "songs from the west coast" are rooted firmly in the sound of his 1970s material, well worth a listen if you haven't already done so.
and"the union" with Leon Russell is all class IMO.
