I just joined today. I am a retired Forester. 60 years young and have been listening to alot more music in my retirement. I signed up for Google Play Music and absolutely am a kid in a candy shop. I love it!! I find everytime I share a song with a friend, they don't seemed inclined to listen, like or comment on it. Soooo, I guess its time to go further afield and find people who are actually excited about new song and performer discoveries. I have several new ones which I will share over the next while!!

PS:
if you stay around awhile you will discover music that you've never heard of before from all genres....
and I for one, try to post something that is new in music several times a week(time permitted)

Can't listen to any rap. I don't mind some classical but generally I don't go looking for it. I like electric guitar and songs with a discernible melody. Pretty much pop anything .... jazz, rock .... with some strange stuff thrown in like early Alice Cooper....

That's both major coasts of 1 country...and even that is limiting--don't you have a coast on the Arctic Sea? This from the Gulf coast of Florida, winter home of a slew of fine Canadians, primarily from Ontario.

Haha. I will try to step up. Hopefully we will hear from an Arctic Canuck so we can cover all 3 coasts. Florida seems like a great idea. I spent a week in Daytona Beach a few years back - in and out via Orlando. Fun!

Yes, I can listen to the spoken word if its within the construct of something whole or bigger. Bruce Cockburn, one of my favorite artists, has some talk but he blends with with such great music that it seems to fit. The hate filled stuff. It must so something for the angst ridden, of which I am not one. I want something positively mood altering. My crack is pop music and its relatives ....
