JUDAS PRIEST "british steel" cd, 1980
UK hard rockers.
sixth album.
one of three I own.
not a big fan of the band overall but I love this album.
from the Stadium 'wave your lighter in the air' anthem called "united"
through to the harder edged material, this is great from the get-go.
loving just about everything on this album
I LOVE THIS ALBUM.

It was innovative with great songs, I’m glad I was on it but the ‘White’ album ended up a better album for me.” Ringo Starr

SLASH'S SNAKEPIT "its five o'clock somewhere" cd, 1995
played yesterday but not posted.
the guitarist from Guns 'n' Roses.
first solo album after he left the former.
bit of a hit-n-miss album here.
has a lot of Gunners' elements in the songs but hes not quite there.
I guess he was finding his feet at the time.
I DO NOT LIKE THIS ALBUM

AC/DC "back in black" cd/vinyl 1980
the band's seventh of seventeen.
first with Brian Johnson on vocals after death of Bon Scott.
I own nothing of the Bon Scott years as im not a fan of the early songs or Bon's vocals.
love Brian, own all ten albums with him on the mic.
album has sold 50 million copies worldwide and rightfully so.
it is the greatest hard rock album ever made.
loving just about everything on this and liking the remaining two.
I LOVE THIS ALBUM
everytime I hear the opening bell chimes and the almost mournful opening riff I get the chills.
it just totally sums up the feeling of the band who are in mourning for their fallen vocalist.

Stupid title - the dead are dead - what's the point in crucifying them?

JUDAS PRIEST "painkiller" cd, 1990
their twelfth of seventeen.
i own three.
a bit of a change from George Harrison for a short while...
final album for original vocalist Rob Halford as he sought other musical outlets.
as i said, i only own three so mot much to judge them by but this sounds a hell of a lot like Iron Maiden.
borderline love/like here for this one.

LIMP BIZKIT "chocolate starfish & the hotdog flavored water" cd, 2000
their third of five, my first of two.
experts called them "nu-metal" or "rap-metal" so metal it is....
Damn thing is now twenty years old, WTF!, time flies....
not as good as i remembered it, drags in the second half due to little variation.
first half is still as explosive as i remembered on my first listen under the cans at a music store...
pretty explicit stuff at times, often witty but politically incorrect, on occasion clever.
still, all up, not bad overall...
