A pleasure to make your acquaintance! I realise that I'm falling out of touch with current music cos whenever anyone asks me to recommend a band I'm always like, "Striving Vines", "Carpark North", etc; basically stuff I was listening to three years ago! Need to discover some great new bands.

Also I'm working on an album myself (kinda National meets Editors with a nice dose of Sigur Ros) but don't wanna be a filthy spammer so will wait until anyone inquires before I say any more!

I'm actually intrigued by the bands you mentioned! Just about to listen to some Danish rock for the first time :p

Sigur Ros is the only band I know of in this thread. Welcome to the forums! (actually, this is my first post). What's the music you make like?

It's basically big moody guitar pop. The name is Memory Flowers. I released the first album in 2011 and am working on the follow up now.

Here's a song from the first album:

Thraak: Danish bands are pretty consistently awesome! And your pic looks like the guy from Strangelove.

haha ironically enough, after listening on youtube I didn't actually like either of them! I've just listened to your song though and I have to say it is very well produced and I do like it!

It is indeed Patrick Duff, I just recently discovered their first album and I was blown away at how good it is! They really were criminally underrated!

I was lucky enough to see them at the Electric Ballroom in London back in 94.

Here are my song recommendations for Carpark North and Striving Vines:

wow, that must have been an experience and a half. I'd love to have seen them back in the day!

Thanks for the songs, I liked them both, especially the Striving Vines one, I'd only heard their older material when I checked them out before.
