Omar Kent Dykes As you can see with the band name, subtlety is not a strong suit. Marketed as a blues artist (usually in the past on Blues labels, etc.), he's tougher to categorize than that. He stepped away from the Howlers for 6 years doing homage projects (Jimmy Reed and Howlin' Wolf) but he's back and he's ba-a-a-d with them. Ron Weinstock's blog alerted me to a '12 CD that's a knocked-out nifty: http://inabluemood.blogspot.com/2012/11/...nough.html He's always been electrified Deep South (Mississippi) Blues rather than the usual Blues-pop/power Blues wranglers. And then there's that voice...oh my. Good AMG bio and discog (solo, then w/ Howlers): http://www.allmusic.com/artist/omar-the-.../biography then: http://www.allmusic.com/artist/omar-the-...iscography and http://www.allmusic.com/artist/omar-dyke...iscography
