I'm a rock/pop music fan. I like most kinds of music, saw Belle & Sebastian last night and Justin Curry last week. I'm listening to, and recording the vinyl of the White Wires II right now, a follow-up to making a recording of an Ian Moore record. My favorite band of all time is Led Zeppelin, my current long term favorites are Richard Thompson, Lucinda Williams, Tedeschi Trucks Band and Patti Griffin. I'm a vinyl fan but also do downloads and CDs. My whole collection (2300+ albums) is digitized and on my PC. I'm up to about 400 boots/demos. I'm good with most genres but avoid avante-garde, improvisional, electronic and most of the bleeding edge. Classical music is great but I've never been able to find the time - too much good rock music.
Anyways I came here to support my favorite musicians and expand my pop/rock music horizons reading others doing the same.

welcome to MD goober....
we have Led Zepplin fans here, dont you worrry about that...me,im a casual fan, love their "four symbals" and "physical graffiti" albums with Kashmir my favourite track of theirs!
i dont like their first couple of albums though...
i really like Plant's album "raising sand" with Allison Kraus also
im okay with Tedeshci Trucks and some of Lucinda's works, but not a huge fan of either.
Classical...never really understood it myself and never took the time to really try to like it,probably because a lot of instrumental msuic isnt really my thing....
Avante-garde,same as you...only just really re-discovering Psychadelia also
not a big fan of Blues/Reggae neither...but likes bits and pieces of it!
2300 albums....

"BTO....Bachman,Turner,Overweight
They were big in the 70s....for five minutes,on a Saturday,after lunch..." - Me 2014.

Zeppelin - probably getting close to 50 now. Including the complete AMJY vinyl series and the Japanese mini-disks. I'm getting the new reissue CDs with the bonus disks. Also have 3 box sets plus about 20 boots/demos.
I very much like every LZ record, the Beatles are the only other major band I feel that way about.
I recently saw some youtube videos of Robert Plant with the Band of Joy doing some Zeppelin covers - excellent. Far as I know none of it's been released.
Listening to New Order - Reading Festival, England 08-29-1993. Pretty good disk.
Thanks!

Welcome goober! You can't go wrong with Led Zeppelin! Their first two albums are legendary for the time and still ring true to this day!!!!
I love a lot of different music including avant garde!
The ultimate connection is between a performer and its' audience!
