I love Chet! Such a classy jazz player with a great voice,,,the consummate artist!

Much as I like Chet Baker and everything he sang and played, he did have a dark side. I won't go on about it; lots of other artists of that era were similarly challenged. What he did do was legiimized the use of strings with serious jazz on a seminal '53 album, Chet Baker with Strings: http://www.allmusic.com/album/chet-baker...0000690407 << excellent write-up. This path became well-trod by others but there's none better.
