Liz Mandeville A bit brassy for some but you can''t fault the feeling. Not a newbie:
http://www.allmusic.com/artist/liz-mande...iscography << her newest isn't reviewed but those othern's are all killers. BTW it's called
Clarksdale and is redolent of that city.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eHWqO6F0fTA << a bit of narrative then she flat
gits it.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=idlaJqg2sKE
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y0NdbWCLHOI << a little political on the front side,: great music on the back end--starts at about 4:20 (go figure).
Wanna go deeper with her?

Cathy Ponton King Serious blues woman here--and has serious, inventive players with her always. Her newest is
The Crux; the last one AMG seriously lists is
Loving You Right (<$5 used at the Usual Suspect) She has Jimmy Thackery and others believing in her and playing with her.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kmo7L-3YMLU << Mr. Thackery doesn't lend his time or talent to mutts... Guilty pleasure fix: listen to that sax solo again--gawd, what a gtr. backdrop to play against!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NlqOf_v2N-E No other word fits but "poignant" Always a place for a tasteful horn in her songs.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0EUQxv_rAuw << I so wish...but no. Poor vid, great sound

This woman started warming my heart just by the song selection on her 1st disc: Tunes written and/or done by Delbert McClinton, that Texas master of soul/blues.
Etta Britt. 2 albums now after being a back-up singer for a long while. Both are available from the Usual Suspect. Some from the 1st later but let's focus on her delicious 2nd--a throwback in the best way to the glory days of Tennessee soul. 3 tunes I didn't like (the ballad and the 2 self-penned pieces), leaving 9 good'uns.
Out of the Shadows. Here's a sample:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S4acCg9PKik << sure does right on this Joe Simon classic
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SSG1JMxjPzM << 2 minutes of intro patter--love this slinky tune!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZGp7VZdPh8I
She is
so suited to Mr. McClinton's stuff. Here with The Man on one of his Sandy Beaches Cruises:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-6-NwSlqxq0 Another:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hwZQ86YnRIE << imagine being <50 feet from this...
Now from the CD (piano by Kevin McKendree--played with Delbert for years):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xtHMEFguCzA << only vid I could find from
Etta Does Delbert.

...And the bounty of beauties continues (beauty from the inside out, natch).
Sunny Crownover "...An in-control, confident woman with on-stage swagger...." True dat. 2 CDs, one with her name, a newish with Mr. Robillard in larger letters. (Duke Robillard helmed both, meaning,
quality all the way). Here she is--
Right Here, Right Now:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FC_QQYgHyYg <<...and cook they do
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F3eDi4tqt0w << the very definition of a "fun gig" for everybody--been to 1 or 2 and they stay in your mind
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jnfWacm3qO8
That newest I mentioned,
Tales from the Tiki Lounge, is a tribute to Les Paul and Mary Ford--fun up, down and sideways:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oGOs7FaHc8g << if this torches you, see this:

Here's a different kinda thing from a long established artist:
Maria Muldaur doing a CD purportedly for kids (but we know better...):
Barnyard Dance.
http://www.allmusic.com/album/barnyard-d...0002037304 Nobody's posted clips from this album but here's some tunes by others:

More on that fine, funky robust redhead,
Liz Mandeville, an interview in a Blues magazine:
http://www.bluesblastmagazine.com/issue-...ch-5-2015/ << Keep scrolling--it's there. One tough childhood she suffered--don't know if I'd have survived it.
