Hello MD ive been looking for a music forum to expand my music knowledge while socializing with some cool ppl, can i do that here? :o: As the title says, im a big pixies fan they're my fav band ever but apart from the pixies im a fan of Deerhoof, Of montreal, Sonic youth, the violent femmes, Nirvana, Guided by voices, Interpol, the beach boys, Daniel johnston, The stranglers, and alot more i'll mention around the forums eventually. 3 important things to know about me are: 1) Im Foreign (latino) 2) im a musician 3) i have a weird sense of humor and i can be a little blunt sometimes I hope i'll find a place in this community cause the last music forum i was into was a bad experience for me, too many hurtful hipsters around.

Wierd sense of humor works for me , and if the hipsters start picking on you , i'll help you hogtie them
and force them to listen to the Bonzo Dog Band !

Welcome aboard the great MD, Mr Successy pants! I like your music choices!!!!.I really like Of Montreal...experimental yet entertaining!
I think you will enjoy this group! We don't tolerate member bashing or their music likes! Waste of time in my opinion as music is subjective, to each his own! My main reason for loving MD is that you meet good people and through music sharing you are exposed to bands or artists that you may never have discovered on your own!

introduced by a long lost friend while laid up in the hospital after heart surgery
fell in love with both of them
SteveO is just too damn nice
I bash other peoples music choices all the time
I try and not be all mean about it though
and I do it knowing they can bash mine just as easy
we all know it's subjective so it's all fair, right?

As regards your points 1,2 & 3 - you are going to fit in just perfectly. We ALL have a weird sense of humour, and relatively speaking, we are all foreign - welcome to the site.

In re hipsters and the Bonzos: in a perverse kind of way, it reminds me of the political hard Left and Israel. When Israel was the down-trodden, they were rapturous in support; now that they are seen as the downtrodders of those wandering nomads who never had a land to call their own but now wish to claim "roots", the Palestinians, Israelis are the bad guys.
