Hi all

I can’t remember a time when music has not been a part of my world. It’s as important to me, and as natural as breathing. Not just music though, anything sonic. Whereas some may not notice white noise, or the background buzz of traffic, the boom of the ocean, silence (when?), for example, I do. Anyone else who is primarily an auditory communicator will experience the same scenario.

I’m joining this forum because I want to interact with like-minded individuals. Also, I’ve been checking it out for a while and frankly, while your core could really use a bit of expansion, you guys seem pretty cool (and mostly reasonably sane ).

Eclectic – that’s me. Not really fussed about genre, if it sounds good to my ears, bring it on (with the exception of rap and hip hop - can't go there). I notice I’m becoming more sophisticated in my choices, preferring more complex sounds lately; merely a self-observation – quite amusing really, all things considered!

In time, you will see what I like.

Welcome aboard MD, Ruby! I like sounds(sonics) also so I have come to the conclusion that I like all music regardless of the genre...there's good music in all types...still searching for that lost chord!!!!...lol

Sound is also important to me. The timbre and tone of guitars, synths (and everything else!) are a whole world of experience, almost as much as the music itself. I don't listen to much in the way of 'Noise' , but have dabbled in Experimental, and have done some experimenting of my own . I'm a geezer (almost 60) so I've listenened to a good amount of music, and to some music a lot in all those years . Some just keeps getting better , and I always find myself evolving and hearing things in new ways. That's one of the big things about music: it's ability to open us up to different parts of our being , and the world around and inside. It's a doorway, a catalyst for transformation , a way to attune . Eclectic is me too , but there are a number of genres that don't do anything for me .

What you said about the ocean reminded me of one of the few times I've been to one. it was the North coast of California, by Arcatia , and the variety of waves crashing on rocks and beaches made an incredible symphony of sounds .
