the big 3--need some help on this
#1
The big 3 are the Beatles, Rolling Stones and the Beach Boys. During their prodigious-output heyday, all wrote way more tunes than they could record or at least put out--some contract writing, some that didn't fit their styles, some favors for friends. What I'd like is a list of songs and artists who recorded tunes the Big 3 wrote but never recorded. You make the list; I'll do the linking. Deal?
Here's a place to start with the Mersey-side Boys but it needs culling and condensing: http://www.columbia.edu/~brennan/beatles...nt-do.html
Couldn't find a similar list for the other 2.

The song was never officially released by either the Beatles or Paul McCartney, although bootleg recordings exist of McCartney's original demo of the song, recorded for Mary Hopkin.[SUP][14][/SUP] The international online magazine PopMatters has published McCartney's demo along with critical commentary expressing a preference for the composer's version over Hopkin's rendition.[SUP][15]..from WIKI

...suggesting somebody with deep ties should blast-cast to the fan sites and have those folks get busy...and report back. Any candidates wish to step forward?

I would think about the rolling stones, beatles, and jimi hendrix. All three of them together can get you through a plane ride from US to Australia without being bored.
