Because it means they don't have to (or probably can't) come up with anything that requires a bit of thought. It's gotten so bad that they don't even sing the same line over and over. They just sing it once and then copy and paste that particular piece over and over. No imagination + laziness = the current state of popular (i.e. chart) music. I think it's time to change my handle from Jerome to 'stuck record' because I seem to be saying the same things over and over, but it's just so apparent how lazy and boring modern (i.e. chart) 'musicians' have become. There's no dynamics in the music, no emotion, no thought behind the words and no creativity happening. Now we're stuck with so-called producers (notice how everyone is suddenly a producer at the age of 16!) and the extent of their 'creativity' is beatz. Another example of the same sample copied over and over and in fact never played on a real instrument at all, just some dodo in a studio pressing one key on an expensive synth while sitting behind a large mixing desk whose intricacies he cannot even begin to comprehend. The lunatics are running the asylum. The cover image of Roger Waters' 'Amused to Death' comes to mind, as do some of his lyrics for that matter.
