I know! there's this whole 'breakbeat' movement, combining death metal and baroque. Igorrrr, etc.

Also, just gothic, 'depressive' metal:

Reminds me of some of the nocturnes, and Bach (the first) darker moments...well, not really, but they try.

There are better examples, but I'm at a loss. There are truly 'depressive' metal bands, playing baroque....

I've only heard two of the more popular songs by this band, but this song makes me really want to check their discography out more.



Also, to the thread starter, is this thread meant to be for talking about both Black Metal and Death Metal together as well as on their own, or just the music that mixes Black Metal with Death Metal?

Behemoth were the first Black/Death band that I got into. "Slaves Shall Serve" was the song and from there, I just kind of fell in love with the whole genre. My favourite song of theirs is "Reign Ov Shemsu-Hor" just so epic...
