Is russia really a democracy?

Recent images from Sochi show guards whipping the crap out of the two gals known as Pussy Riot! They spent two years in jail for singing an anti Putin song!!!!

Sexual preference is taboo...heterosexual only! Such a screwed up, backward . paranoid country run by the KGB boss Putin!!! A democracy..what a joke!

And do not draw comparisons to the USA !!!! It is a democracy like Canada!!!..no where near the brutality and blatant disregard for human rights...Cripes he should have been gone years ago but he had the law changed so he could run again or something like that!

Thanks for this jazz! I guess it depends on the attitude of the people in each country!

I know there are the vanguards of democracy,,,Canada, United States of America, Great Britain, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, and Scandinavia for sure and Russia ain't in the mix!
