Hello! I am a younger music goer. I am fourteen, but I thought I could come here to post some reviews of musicals. I love musicals. I am an actor myself, after all. The show we are doing this year for our high school/middle school musical is "The Drowsy Chaperone." I am playing Mr. Feldzieg. That is for another time. I will introduce myself. I am a young actor/musician. I love musicals. They are my favorite things. I love being in them, too. It has a special feeling. The dancing, singing, etc. It all brings a sense of fun to an otherwise boring play or something. I play the upright bass and the bass guitar. I have been playing the upright longer. I just started learning how to play the bass guitar recently. I also have a passion for puppeteering. It's kind of weird. I am probably one of the few my age that enjoys that. My favorite genres of music include: musicals, classical, classic rock, jazz, and some blues sometimes. I like a lot more, but this is my main focus of listening. My top five dream musical roles are: 5. Benjamin Franklin (from 1776) 4.Nicky (from Avenue Q) 3. William Barfee (from 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee) 2. Reb Tevye (from Fiddler on the Roof) and 1. the puppeteer of Audrey II (from Little Shop of Horrors.) This year's show is my second show. Last year, my first show, was Meet Me in St. Louis. I played Clinton Badger, a bumbling dork that is very awkward around women. I also made it into Junior County Chorus, and am going for Junior County orchestra this Tuesday, too.

"Weird" is not the concept to think in--"different" and "special" are also tainted. You seem a "separately-segmented individual"--heavy emphasis on "individual". You have had and may continue to have difficulty finding others with whom to find mutual acceptance....but don't settle for less. The transitory, the simple here-and-now aren't worth submerging or even losing your ego and sense of self-worth. Wherever your talents and quests take you, go there--the right folks will find you and celebrate you. If they don't--their loss, not yours.

I am very comfortable. I do understand that I am sort of weird, but I was able to find many friends within my performing. I will try to find some good footage and post it here for everyone, if wanted, though

NO. A flat "NO !". Puppeteering may have fallen out of fashion somewhat but it was among the first forms of social commentary permitted...and was very effective. It's a tool an artist can use. Period. Paragraph. As far as bass players to emulate, consider Will Lee:

Do you guys know of any good tuba players to take a listen to, as well? I play a lot of tuba, now, too.
