What Are You Listening To?
Big Ears Wrote:rebelgirl - The Righteous Brothers were very infuential on popular music here in the UK. It did not really grow until British artists started covering American songs. Cilla Black's version of You Lost That Loving Feeling is an example.

Right you are. A brilliant, under-rated artist (in the U.S. anyway). For more on her, click on "Show more" in uploader's info portion *: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=moqGIVr4BYM I like her enough to post another 2 songs (non-R-Brothers): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rr1_MAV8DXQ and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rWAcG5p0Jyg

* I always do this on YT postings--some amazing stuff can show up.

I don't know what prompted me to listen to Going Down by Freddie King, other than I haven't heard it for ages. It was recorded in 1971 for the Getting Ready album, apparently as an attempt to bring him to a rock audience and by golly it worked! The production is very dynamic and is more blues rock, than pure blues (imo). Sadly, Freddie was only in his early forties when he died.

That's interesting, jazzbo. I don't think I have seen live footage of Freddie King before.
