Song writers perform their covers !
#11
Bobby Womack is an under-rated songwriter. Here's 2 by him that others did well with.
His, by himself: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=amOeCPHAroE << who knew it had lyrics? His, with a partner, that mad Gypsy guitarist, Gabor Szabo: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pxAapOOllX0 the other guy's: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PdB8QraON...MFfiUWXNYN

His: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SDhDeAzbGsE << to some, an innocent time; to me, utterly stultifying. POV rules perceptions, yes? Them other folks: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PHuwOgc2D9s

There are many songs which are famous by the artist not really by the composer. The work of Composer is to compose the songs and artist performs that song infront of thousands of audience and if they perform it nicely then song was popular by the name of artist not by composer.

SteveO Wrote:There must be many Dylan songs made popular other than by Bob ! Forever Young was covered by Rod ....actually the song differs from Dylan's but in the end Rod agreed to share the royalties with Bob !...weird !...lol

SteveO's vids have been removed--hope this is an acceptable substitute:

I have always liked the song "Seven Bridges Road".
The original: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mt2IFaCwTKk
the cover: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DvdQP9LREQY << They do OK with this...
What brought me to this song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mt2IFaCwTKk << ...but the harmonies in this one always bring tears
Some BG on this song: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seven_Bridges_Road << your attention is invited to all the great artists who have also covered it

ok....

Rod Stewart was the one who made "i dont want to talk about it" famous as a huge mid 1970s worldwide hit but the original version was written and performed by Neil Young's backing band Crazy Horse first...
we all know the Rod version, so heres the link to the original CH version off their 1972 self titled debut set...

a lot of people out there dont realise that Joan Jett's "i love rock and roll" was actually a cover, but it was.
i was originally released by a British group called Arrow back around 1975ish....
it was a very minor UK for those guys, but t was Joan who rocked it up and made it her own...
again, we all know Joan's version from 1982 so here is the link to the original version by Arrow
