What he said....++. One class act, is Ms. McBride. Dug her since the ...and the Ride days. Can't wish enough success to her. It's understood that I come from the soul side of the house and the understated yet emotive way she delivers this soul classic, this Universal Emotion...well I'm not ashamed to admit to tears.
BONUS: A CMT Crossroads presentation with Ms. McBride and Pat Benatar with, natch, Neil Giraldo having some tasty guitar breaks and being the bandleader. Nice interview/convo segments too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=syTwdlhyvH4 << among the better 40 minutes you'll spend.
Thanks for putting this up, Sister RebelGirl. This version stands right there with Billy Paul and Simply Red's version of an adult love song/ heart felt plea from someone who truly wants it to work...but needs a bit of understanding and forbearance. "Forget what's on my breath and my coat--right now, in our home, I want to kiss you and be warm with you and show you my love and my enveloping protection and...I won't change tomorrow or ever but my love, my affection for you can only grow...that I pledge>" and no, it's not guilt.
Love to hear a country artist cover this one.: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g0J2OgILw_E or my personal theme song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KZ1k8zYRZwg << Still miss you, BJN.
