I guess I snuck the Black Keys in there, since they're a duo, but since others chose pop, metal, and glam bands--and I really like the Black Keys--I think I should get a freebie.

metal is a sub-genre of rock so its ok to name a metal band. thats why metal bands get into the rock and roll hall of fame.

How did Madonna, the Bee Gees, and The Supremes, and Michael Jackson get into the Hall? These days, they'd probably let my grandma's church choir in that place.
I agree that metal, in many cases, is rock...and so are glam bands for that matter. I just thought it would be easier to narrow it down by sticking with rootsier rock. Now I have to re-evaluate my whole list. Too much pressure.

I won't be putting these in order from best to worst, mainly because I'll just end up in an argument with myself and others... but i have to start it out with the best...

They made the list because they all came out with solid albums... none of that "single" bullsh*t where most of the songs are alike and only a couple of them shine...
