....ok, occasionally, i will buy an album or two by someone im not really sure of with a giftcard because i dont actually physically lay out my money in doing so...!
this was one of those albums...sometimes the selection works,other times it doesnt and this time it didnt!
album is full of electronic synth work...and i cant stand that stuff...
whats worse IMO, is the use of one of those stupid voice altering Vocorders...if Neil Young cant get away with that crap with me,these guys have no chance!
admittedly, the use of vocorder is not on all tracks...its the four real tracks without that, that i do like(but lets get it straight...i said 'like' and not 'love'!)....
theres also two instrumentals on here, the second one, which also happens to be the final track on the album isnt too bad...and im generally not an instrumental guy!
theres also a WTF moment on here for me in track #3 whereby one of the Daft guys talks over a music track for nine minutes as to how he learned guitar and wanted to be in a band, sorry, too artsy-fartsy for my liing also!
most catchy track on here by far is the worldwide #1 hit "get lucky", but my favourite one that i would describe as "light pop" and linked below....
now, this post was based on an initial listen of this album so its probably a bit unfair to rate this album on a first listen....
no, its not, it is fair!
this is a piece of crap, and i cannot understand how it sold millions of copies and picked up five or six Grammy's....
i dont like it...
never thought i would....
never will and, its going to be lucky if it doesnt end up in the trash!
I DO NOT LIKE THIS ALBUM
album rating:
3s= you gotta be joking!
2s=5, and one of those is hit or miss!
1s=8
rating: 1.3
from the album, my most likeable track:
"fragments of time"

Glad you found a good home for the Daft Guys, I'm sure Steveo will enjoy it! To be honest I love most things Nile Rogers gets involved with, so surprisingly i really liked the album. Definitely a couple of odd tracks or WTF moments, but I like all that arty farty malarky sometimes.
Currently listening to this timeless house remix, of Pepperment Heaven. (No pun intended if that can be classed as a pun?)

The Plateaux of Mirror - Brian Eno and Harold Budd - a minimalist ambient album. I find this the most relaxing album in my collection. If I just want an album to float around in the background while I concentrate on something else this is the perfect album. Not everyone's cup of tea but certainly does it for me. The ultimate chill out album.
