not just for Dylanologistas

Fascinating new memoir by the ultimate Dylan insider, Victor Maymudes. Another Side of Bob Dylan Started by him, finished by his son, it's only 1/3 about the times with Dylan; this guy had his own life including a trip to Peru with Dennis Hopper to do a movie. Here's the article: http://www.nytimes.com/2014/08/10/books/...pages.html To be released September 9 and available from all the usual sources.

yet again....

something written about Dylan, by other people, but not by The Man himself...

all we ever see is other peoples opinions and perceptions of Bob Dylan.

i really wish Dylan would put words to paper one day...as it is, he is still an enigma...no-one really knows who he is,what he is about or how he thinks...!
even in interviews he keeps his cards hidden and doesnt answer questions with answers, only with more questions...

classic examples over the years:

Bob,what you spend your money on? apples, bananas, fruit and pears

Bob,whats "blowing in the wind actually about? the wind

Bob,whats the meaning behind "like a rolling stone"? a rolling stone

Bob,what do you think about the state of the world? i have no idea

Bob,has the world changed for better or worse since the 1960s? i have absolutely no idea

and so it goes...must be so frustrating interviewing him and trying to get him to open up, or alternatively, they should just ask decent questions.
