My name is David. I love all types of music, but usually its along the lines of Indie Rock. My favorite bands are Bright Eyes, Modest Mouse, Deerhunter, Tom Waits, Atlas Sound, Cursive, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, She Sir, Animal Collective, Of Montreal, Dead Confederate, Kevin Devine, Manchester Orchestra, Rig 1 and probably several others.
I also really love the music I play in my band The Last Relapse. You all need to check us out!

Hi David and welcome to MD.
Please don't take any offence in me removing the link. I am sure you are a good member and keen to talk music, but we do have a rule regarding links and newbie members without exception. To cut the long story short, if we did allow all new members to post links or promote etc.... The site would be swamped with links and ads, meaning MD wouldn't be the quality site that all the good members bring to it. Hope you understand. :wink:

I'm new to this site also! No one seems to want to talk music with me, although I do have unique taste!
I do like Modest Mouse, and I kind of like Animal Collective except for that My Girls song, it annoys me!!

Hi David, You've got great taste and I like the name your band Lats Relapse, I will definatly check it out. Have you listened to Arab Strap, Isobel Campbell and Mark Lanegan, Abagail Grey or Smog (Will Callaghan). I think you would enjoy them.

The Velvet Teen are good, I think his voice is kind of reminisent of Tom York - would you agree. What else are you into?

Thom Yorke, I guess I would agree although I am just beginning to become a Radiohead fan. The music is just too dark to me. The Velvet Teen lyrics are just so amazing to me.
I'm also into Phoenix and The Molotovs right now.
Lost Gold Records artists include Bing Crosby and Pasty Cline who are also artists that I am into and admire, I like a little bit of everyhting.
What else are you into?

Yes, I would agree that radio head have dark lyrics which is why I love them and why I like Abagail Grey and Isobel Campbell. Have you heard any of there music? Let me know what you think of it. I like Belle and Sebastian and Bonnie Prince Billy, but my all time favourite artist is Leonard Cohen, again, very dark.
