Busy listening to Ismael Lo's 'Jammu Afrika' - such a beautiful album in parts - don't have a clue what he is singing about but this album is solid from start to finish. Forgot that Marianne Faithfull puts in an appearance here as well.

i remember as a kid in the UK that whenever his name got bought up on a music show or in general everyone was interested in what his latest project was.

he's an absolute genius IMO, but i sadly dont own any of his works

I think Mike Batt grew up, or spent part of his youth, in North Africa (possibly Morocco), so that seems to influence a lot of his work. If you have an experimental ear, try his 'Caravans' Movie soundtrack album. Personally I consider it one of the best in my collection. This is the title track. http://youtu.be/LcYfRysceeQ
