A special album indeed, Music man! from the site at: http://www.realbuzz.com/articles/top-10-...nation-top
Top 10 uplifting albums
Hot Fuss â The Killers (2004)
![[Image: killers.jpg]](http://static.realbuzz.com/images/articles/main/killers.jpg) This record contains breathless keyboard-filled indie-rock that seems to draw much of its influence from the music of the 1980s, and is very upbeat. The album has a boundless energy which starts during the raw power of the opener and is sustained right through till the end â and even has a Gospel choir thrown in for good measure. The infectious melodies will quickly infuse themselves into your brain, meaning that this is an album youâll never forget â even if youâre silly enough to want it to. If you need a quick-fire boost, just listening to the first few tracks should do the trick.

Thought this was the bands best selling album but it comes in second to the debut. This was better for me since there were no tracks I didn't
like. The album just misses a love score. Surprised there were only 2 singles released, and not even my favorite track. Said to be influenced by
the works of U2 and Springsteen but I don't hear it. I saw it on the internet so it must be true. Album name is taken from a casino in Vegas.

This album consists of two singles, b-sides, rarities, covers and remixes recorded between 2002 and 2007. Most are from the Hot Fuss and Sam's
Town sessions. We have 2 decent covers in Ruby, Don't Take Your Love To Town and Romeo & Juliet where Brandon does a damn good Mark Knopfler. The two remakes of their own songs completely fail for me with the dance flavored remix of a 10 minute Mr. Brightside making me wonder if I even want this album. But then I have the 1 love track making it all worthwhile, Lou Reed showing up on the leadoff track Tranquilize. Wondering if this is the last recorded work of Mr. Reed. His voice is actually terrible on this but he never could sing anyway. Just good to hear him again. Fine, I guess I'll keep the album.

Thought this band would still be on the upswing after Sam's Town sucked me in. Didn't happen with this one. Two love tracks and 3 I don't like
from a measly 10 tracks. The album has gone platinum elsewhere but only gold here. Highest single here was Human and that was only #32. The band launched it's biggest tour yet after this release with sold out shows in 6 continents, so the fans were still with them. Me too, but not as much as I was. Loving these clips from the Royal Albert Hall gig.
