Hi, I'm Steve from Sweden!
Joined this forum recently and looking forward to discuss music here!
A little about me:
- I love synthesis and play with it a lot, I'm very into FM-patches.
- I'm very into Future Garage, IDM, House, Grunge, UK Funky (recently started listening to it), old Reggae (60's & 70's), a little Industrial Rock, Drum & Bass, Ambient, Alternative Rock, etc.
- I've been producing music a little over 1,5 years, and I produce electronic music. I haven't given out any official track yet, but working on them. I produce some kind of electro/house/whatever. And I'm planning on making a second alias where I'll just fool around and make something like Future/Garage/Ambient/IDM/Glitch/etc.

Best name there is! Nice to meet you.
On the ambient side it's pretty mixed, you have the oldschool producers Steve Roach, Robert Rich, Michael Stearns, Jean Michel Jarre, a little spacemusic with Between Interval, and a bit more chillout blended with other genres with Solar Fields, Aes Dana, HUVA Network, Carbon Based Lifeforms, and slightly more indie-type ambient with Maps & Diagrams and the first album by Jon Hopkins. I also like the selected ambient works albums by Aphex Twin.
On the Industrial side I haven't developed that much, but you have the classic Nine Inch Nails, as well as his sideproject How To Destroy Angels.

Nice choices, Steve! I am familiar with some of them (Jarre,Hopkins, Aphex Twin, Roach and Rich)...the others I will explore! A member here recommended M83, the double CD Hurry Up, We're Dreaming. I haven't checked it out yet...soon. (not like there isn't enough music around these days !!!!!..lol). I heard them briefly before, quite an eclectic duo with music from many genres.Jerome, a long time member, loves Jarre! I also enjoy Klaus Schulze, Arvo Part, Karlheinz Stockhausen (especially Hymnen), Olafur Arnalds and a few others. I like sounds and pretty much listen to all music genres (except pop rap..lol). Odd in a strange way because I am a Beatle nut! ..lol
The industrial music genre is a tough nut to crack! It's hard to find good bands ..like NIN, Ministry, Rammstein and Marilyn Manson....

M83 are great, I've seen them live once, afterwards me and my friends had to yell to eachother to hear haha. It was awesome!
Hurry up we're dreaming doesn't have the best album structure, but it has incredible songs. Also the album Saturday Youth (?), has incredible songs, especially the track Highway of endless dreams.

I know Get Lucky stormed the Top 40 charts last year and everyone knows it...but the other tracks on the Random Access Memories album by Daft Punk, mesmerised me! I love the entire album...a history of 70s music ....
